Take Back the Fight: Resisting Sexual Violence from the Ground Up

Exhibition Dates: June 1 – October 29, 2017
Exhibition Opening: June 1, 7-10pm

Interference Archive’s summer 2017 exhibition Take Back the Fight: Resisting Sexual Violence from the Ground Up focuses on organized responses to gender and sexual violence. The primary goal of this exhibition is to highlight a variety of ways that individuals and communities have responded to sexual violence with creative and powerful grassroots and non-institutional justice and healing practices.

Take Back the Fight will narrate intersecting histories of activism, public outreach, artistic response, and community support for victims of sexual violence by publicly presenting material found in collections of Interference Archive and the Lesbian Herstory Archives. We will focus on collective measures to create community around healing and justice. The exhibition will coincide with a series of public events in order to collectively engage with the material, relating the histories to our current moment.
