Radical Mycology Workshop

Join author Peter McCoy for a workshop on the growth of Radical Mycology from an obscure zine to grassroots fungal advocacy movement. Peter will cover the history and insporations that have shaped the evolution of Radical Mycology over the last decade—from the impacts of past and contemporary activist movements to the direct actions of the fungi themselves—and which directions the project is currently growing. The evening will conclude with each participant making their own mushroom cultivation kit for growing mushrooms at home.

Our Comics, Ourselves at the University of Connecticut

The Archives & Special Collections at the University of Connecticut will host the first traveling installment of the exhibition Our Comics, Ourselves co-curated by Jan Descartes and Monica McKelvey Johnson. The exhibition premiered at Interference Archive in January, and we’re really excited to see it move on to new locations. Our Comics, Ourselves features comics from the Interference Archive collection as well as private collections on loan.

Soñamos Sentirnos Libres : Under Construction is a collaborative exhibition, highlighting the work of Mobile Print Power.

This cumulative exhibition will highlight old and new collaborations between Mobile Print Power and seven organizations in the form of workshops and events. These workshops will develop throughout its run, creating ongoing collaborative processes.

Beyond Prisons Propaganda Party

Amplifier Foundation and Interference Archive host the first of what hopefully will become many propaganda parties. What is a propaganda party? It’s where we invite dozens of organizations, activists, designers, and artists producing materials around a political issue together to hang out, meet each other, and distribute their flyers, stickers, posters, buttons, and more. All propaganda is free, and we encourage all to come by, grab a drink, and load up on as many posters and stickers you can carry!

Arts & Activism Showcase

Please join us for the Willie Mae Rock Camp’s 2nd Annual Arts & Activism showcasing the 2016 fellows’ podcasts. Refreshments will be provided and DJ Zena will spin some tunes!

Designed as an after-school program for teen women (transgender and cisgender), and gender non-binary youth, Arts & Activism held its first class in the spring of 2015. Focused on developing media skills, building community, and exploring the intersections of art and activism, participants attend DJ instruction classes and by creating a podcast, engage in study of the role of music in social justice.
