About Simeen:
Simeen (she/her) is a social practice artist exploring the different ways that we move around in the world and the invisible systems that shape our path. Through participatory research and workshops, she examines our relationships with overlooked markers that influence our movement: hostile architecture, postal codes, passports and visas, maps, nation state borders, buses and airports. Her work attempts to initiate conversations that can facilitate new possibilities of being, becoming and belonging in a time of repression. She holds a BFA from Jamia Millia Islamia (New Delhi) and an MFA from Portland State University (Portland, OR).
