A community arts event co-hosted by Musicians For Palestine and Interference Archive that will stream live on Radio AlHara in Palestine.

Interference Archive and Musicians For Palestine invite you to an evening of collective reflection on the possibilities of sustaining solidarity across lands with movements resisting settler-colonialism through art and music.

While we hear music selections from Radio AlHara local residents and from a vinyl collection of Palestinian resistance music from Josh MacPhee, we invite folks into a participatory and hybrid zine-making process, exploring the use of cut and paste collage to spell out the significance of two phrases: MUSICIANS FOR PALESTINE and SOLIDARITY ACROSS BORDERS. Art in Action Across Borders aims to create and hold space for critical engagement within the arts, and specifically within networks of musicians, who support Palestinian human rights. In person, at Interference Archive, we will supply printed images of material relating to resistance against settler-colonialism from the Archive’s collection. Online, through this slide deck and Zoom, we will supply scanned images of material relating to resistance against settler-colonialism from the Archive’s collection. Collectively, we will reflect on prompts, and cut, paste, color, collage, write, draw and respond with their calls to action for solidarity with the Palestinian struggle and art supporting liberation; PDF copies of this collaborative zine will be shared after the event.

We’ll also have volunteers from Audio Interference floating through the space to record short vox pop segments for a collective expression of solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for freedom and against colonization today, to be aired in a joint episode with Musicians For Palestine and broadcast in Palestine via Radio AlHara; there will also be prints from the Imaging Apartheid project available for people to take home and share in the city.

Art in Action Across Borders aims to create and hold space for critical engagement within the arts, and specifically within networks of musicians, who support Palestinian human rights. The approach of Musicians For Palestine is intersectional and we aim to create connections between a multitude of struggles as manifested within the intersections of the arts and activism.

Join us in person at Interference Archive (314 7th Street, Brooklyn NY 11215). Tune in live to Radio AlHara to listen remotely, and join our zine-making session from the web via zoom.

Interference Archive’s programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
