My Body/Our Rights: A Comics Slide Presentation and Discussion with Artists from World War 3 Illustrated #53

When

Thursday, June 15, 2023

7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Can comics get your laws off my body? MY BODY/OUR RIGHTS is a new collection of comics and graphic art in defense of abortion rights, healthcare, and respect for all identities. Artists, activists, and healthcare workers envision bodily autonomy in this hostile political climate. Testimony of our abortion experiences, before and after Roe. MY BODY is always mine alone, in pleasure or pain. OUR RIGHTS are always social. We name and claim them in the public sphere. Come be encouraged, enraged, and moved by these stories and art.

Presenting artists: Isabella Bannerman, Jennifer Camper, Sabrina Jones, Sam Migliore, and work by Seth Tobocman performed by Tamara Tornado and Barbara Lee.

World War 3 Illustrated is an artists’ collective publishing activist comics since 1979.

Interference Archive’s programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
