Propaganda Party: ¡An Unbreakable Human Thread! Movements & People for a Sovereign Borikén

Join us on Saturday, August 22 from 3-6pm for a Propaganda Party at Interference Archive where we will make and distribute Puerto Rican independence ephemera featured in our exhibition, ¡An Unbreakable Human Thread! Movements & People for a Sovereign Borikén. 

Come by to hang out, screen print, make buttons, and collect posters and materials to distribute within your communities. We will learn, share, and reflect on the strength of Puerto Rican resistance on the islands and in the diaspora, building connections with one another and across struggles for liberation.

What we will have

We will screen print on site, make buttons, and have posters available for you to take home. There will be snacks and music.

What you should bring

Something that you would like to screenprint on! This may be a t-shirt, tote bag, or fabric. We also encourage you to bring zines, posters, and ephemera to exchange with comrades about organizing for a sovereign Borikén and global solidarity movements. 

What is a propaganda party? 

A Propaganda Party is a gathering where artists, activists, organizations, and community members like you come together to meet each other, create and share posters, t-shirts, buttons, and other materials, while building relationships in a supportive, creative environment. We will make and distribute material to be “propagated.” While propaganda often has a negative connotation, here we are reclaiming the term and using it to mean mass-education in community to learn about the liberation of Borikén and its people.
