The new issue of Signal: A Journal of International Political Graphics & Culture is out, and co-editor and Interference co-founder Josh MacPhee is throwing a release party. Come check out presentations by 3 contributors:
— Ryan Lee Wong (curator of Serve the People at Interference back in 2015!) illuminates the labor of Basement Workshop, one of NY Chinatown’s first radical cultural institutions
— Shaun Slifer unearths the history of Appalachian Movement Press, a 1970s West Virginia militant movement press
— Josh MacPhee will DJ and discuss the communist and anarchist music of the 1960s and 70s Italian social movements (MacPhee’s article on this is actually in Signal:05, but don’t tell anyone!)
This event is kid-friendly. We’ll have a play area set up with toys and picture books for our lil’ radicals in attendance.
