Three Films on the Venezuelan Commune Movment

Join us at the archive for three short films on the Venezuelan Commune Movement and a conversation with the NYC-DSA Anti-War Working Group and Anti-Imperialist Network. We’ll talk about the communes in relation to current U.S. military action in Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro as well as the history of the communes under past and current socialist governments in Venezuela.

To understand the socialist and anti-imperialist project of Venezuela, one must understand its communal project. The sites are centers of worker’s power that stands in stark contrast to the top down businesses in the United States. Through these three films, you will hear from people participating in communal projects and how they view and organize their experiences.
