7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Interference Archive has a large collection of music and agit prop from the green anarchism and radical environmental movements in the Pacific Northwest. Come learn about the media within the collection from the turn of the millennium, just before the Green Scare of the early 00s, when a post-9/11 state branded environmentalists as eco-terrorists and the number one threat to national security. Activists were charged with terrorism for acts of arson and vandalism, and several spent years in maximum security prisons.

We’ll be discussing this work, its legacy today, and showing selected clips from filmmakers Tim Lewis and Tim Ream, the Cascadia Media Collective, Deep Dish TV, and the radical environmentalist band TchKung.

The screening will be about 50 minutes, with a discussion after.

Featuring:

Pickaxe (1999)

Showdown in Seattle (1999)

A Year in the Streets (2000)

Tchkung vs. The State (1996)
