A letter from all of us at Interference Archive…
December 1, 2016 by
Dear Friends of Interference Archive,
The closing of 2016 has been challenging for all of us, but we have found strength and hope in the amazing community that surrounds Interference Archive. The integrity, heart, and commitment of New York City activists is even stronger in these times. Thank you to everyone who has brought their voice to Interference Archive and linked arms in the struggle to make the world a more just place.
While we all focus on our giving habits at this time of year, we want to share with you what Interference Archive has to give. Interference Archive is a space to preserve the struggles we are all engaged in right now. As an archive, our role is to make sure this history is documented and re-told, and we’re creating a place for movements of yesterday and today to be in conversation with each other and with all of us right now. Through the coming month, we’ll be sharing a close-up look at the critical elements and movements that power Interference Archive today. Please stay tuned to see some of our favorite pieces from the archives and meet some of the people who make Interference run.
We also want to be real about the fact that, as a volunteer-run non-profit organization with no paid staff, we stretch our dollars as far as they can go—but we need your support. I ask that you please consider making a tax-deductible monetary contribution today.
Every dollar donated to Interference Archive goes right back into the work of preserving social movements. We are proud to have an immense collection of archival materials as well as current day exhibitions and public programming to address today’s most urgent struggles. If you’re capable, we encourage you to consider becoming a monthly supporter of our work. It makes all the difference.
We know we’re stronger in bigger numbers, and that’s why we hope to see you soon at the archive–and we hope you’ll show your support today.
With gratitude and solidarity,
Jen, Josh, Vero, Louise, Kevin, Charlie, Amy, and Bonnie
